Role details

Minimum Requirements Proven experience in a senior commercial, business development, general management or commercial operations role. Demonstrated experience building, launching or scaling a new business model, product, service or distribution network. Strong commercial and financial acumen, including pricing, profitability, cash flow and performance management. Experience with consumer finance, instalment-based payment models, credit risk, collections or similar commercial environments would be advantageous. Proven ability to establish practical systems, processes and reporting structures in a growing or entrepreneurial business. Experience working cross-functionally with operational, financial, technical and other business teams. Strong execution, organisational and problem-solving capabilities, with a demonstrated ability to take ownership and deliver results. Experience building, developing and leading teams. Strong relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage effectively with communities, business partners and senior stakeholders. Ideal Industry Background Candidates from the following sectors will be considered: Renewable energy, solar and off-grid electrification. Consumer finance, microfinance, asset finance and rent-to-own. Pay-as-you-go business models. Telecommunications and last-mile distribution. Development finance and impact-driven businesses. Emerging-market technology and businesses focused on expanding access to essential services. Direct renewable energy experience is beneficial but not essential. A proven ability to design, implement and scale a commercially sustainable business model is key.
