Role details

Minimum Requirements Degree, National Diploma or equivalent qualification in Accounting , Finance or a related field. 3-5 years' relevant cost accounting experience. Experience within FMCG , manufacturing or a similar production environment. Strong understanding of standard costing and manufacturing accounting. Experience working with Bills of Materials (BOMs), Work in Progress (WIP) and variance analysis. Strong Excel and financial analysis skills. Key Responsibilities Manage standard costing processes and maintain accurate costing information. Analyse product and production costs, including materials, labour and overheads. Review and maintain Bills of Materials and Work in Progress calculations. Perform detailed cost and variance analysis, investigating key drivers and trends. Monitor production costs and identify opportunities for improved cost control. Prepare costing reports and provide meaningful financial insights to management. Support budgeting, forecasting and financial planning activities. Perform reconciliations and investigate costing and inventory discrepancies. Work closely with production, procurement and finance teams to improve cost accuracy. Support month-end reporting and ensure accurate financial information is available for decision-making. Identify opportunities to improve costing processes, controls and reporting. Key Skills & Competencies Strong cost accounting and manufacturing knowledge. Solid understanding of standard costing, BOMs, WIP and variance analysis. Excellent analytical, numerical and problem-solving skills. Strong Excel and data analysis capabilities. Commercially minded with a good understanding of manufacturing cost drivers. High attention to detail and accuracy. Strong communication and stakeholder management skills. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with operational teams. Proactive approach to identifying and resolving costing issues.
