Job Description: A well-established consumer products and manufacturing organisation is looking for a Cost Accountant to join its finance team in Midrand. This is a hands-on costing role where you will work closely with finance and operational teams to ensure accurate product costing, inventory valuation and profitability analysis across the manufacturing environment. Key Responsibilities: Prepare and maintain standard product costing Develop and maintain Bills of Materials and costing structures Analyse actual versus standard production costs Perform detailed variance analysis across materials, labour and overheads Monitor Work in Progress and finished goods costing Analyse production costs and identify key cost drivers Support accurate inventory valuation Investigate costing variances and recommend corrective action Prepare monthly costing and management reports Analyse product margins and profitability Assist with month-end costing and financial reporting Support budgeting and forecasting processes Review manufacturing cost allocations Work closely with production and operational teams Identify opportunities for cost reduction and improved efficiencies Maintain accurate costing data within the ERP system Support internal and external audit requirements Job Experience and Skills Required: Qualification: Degree in Accounting , Finance, Cost Accounting or related field National Diploma considered depending on experience Experience: 3-5 years' relevant experience Cost accounting experience essential FMCG or manufacturing experience essential Strong standard costing experience BOM and WIP exposure essential Strong variance analysis experience Inventory and product costing exposure Technical Skills: Standard costing BOM WIP Variance analysis Product costing Inventory valuation Margin analysis Advanced Excel ERP\/accounting systems The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for someone who is: Analytical and commercially minded Technically strong in cost accounting Detail-oriented and accurate Comfortable working with production teams Strong at investigating variances and cost drivers Proactive and solutions-oriented Comfortable working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Able to translate costing information into practical business insights Why consider this opportunity?
